Our Work

The organization – WiLDAF - has been in operation for 11 years now, having been started in 1996, as WiLDAF East Africa. Beyond Eastern Africa, WiLDAF has a wide coverage in 36 African countries. WiLDAF Kenya was registered in 1999 as a Kenyan local NGO under the NGO Coordination Act. The Kenya office has its niche and proven expertise in policy formulation and law making and review; ability to influence change through policy makers, and policy oriented research.

We have worked and continue to work in and foster partnerships with other organizations in various taskforces, networks and coalitions including but not limited to:

• The Multi-Sectoral Task Force on the Implementation of the Sexual Offences Act.
• The Africa Women Leadership Network for Reproductive Health,
• The East African Gender Based Violence Network
• The Gender 10 aka G10,
• The Coalition of Women for Peace,
• The Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) Cluster,
• The Reproductive Health and Rights Alliance,
• The National Coordinating Committee of the Women’s Conference on the Proposed Constitution,
• Katiba Sasa Campaign Team
• The White Ribbon Alliance; among others

Internationally, We have been privileged to attend several International Conferences on SRHR and subsequently taken part either as delegates and/or speakers in addition to being part of the Organizing and Scientific Committees. Part of our strategy in addressing issues around SRHR is forming partnerships with like minded groups and individuals to persuade national and local leaders that SRHR issues need high level attention and improvements in quality and access. In line with this, WiLDAF Kenya was recently invited to form part of the Africa Women Leadership Network on Reproductive Health spearheaded by Africa Women Development Fund (AWDF) and the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPFARO).
